Who we are

Where we've come from, and where we're going

How it all started...

First Baptist Kettering was founded as a church in 1957.  During that year, the church was birthed out of a baptist mission started by West Moraine Baptist Church, called Thomas Gordon to be their first pastor, and purchased land on Brownleigh Road.

The church moved into their first building in June of 1958. In 2002, because of growth, it became clear that more room was needed for ministry to continue so the church purchased 75 acres off Swigart Road in Sugarcreek Township and relocated in 2007.

Decline, and New Birth...

However, the economic downturn of 2008 took its toll on the church. After some changes in leadership, membership, and vision, the church fully recovered and by 2018, faced a shortage of space for the kids and students which lead to the expansion of those ministry spaces. In 2019, in cooperation with Pastor Brian Kershaw and East Dayton Baptist Church FBK became one church in two locations with the planting of The Church at Eastmont.

Where we are headed...

As we continue to be the church where God has placed us we are seeing an increasing number of  people attending our church and responding to Jesus. This response, coupled with our recently intensified our efforts in making disciples, training up leaders, and sharing Jesus with the Next Generation, gives us great hope for what God has in store for for our future.

That being said, we are thankful for God's faithfulness in the past, are devoted to Him in the present, and we are excited to see how God will use FBK to reach people with His gospel in the Dayton, Ohio area and beyond for years to come.
